Xperia PLAY Experience Pack XP151 Review

Included:
Multimedia Dock DK300
Pocket Micro USB Cable EC300                        Can be purchased from Amazon.co.uk here
3.5mm Music Cable MC100
3 Free Gameloft Games

The Xperia PLAY Experience pack XP151 is a good addition, aside from including a host of great accessories, it enables some new features to the phone, including a bedside view which shows the time, weather and date, there are 4 soft buttons at the bottom of the screen: Alarms, Gallery Photos, Music and Homescreen.

The bedside view once dimmed

When the phone is docked at night, it has a neat clock view which can be set to dim by pressing the toggle in the top right corner to use by the bedside (to stop the image burning into your screen, after 5 mins of dimmed display only the clock will remain and will slowly move around the screen.)

If the phone is docked during the daytime, it can easily be switched into the gallery photo mode which shows your photos in a digital photo frame style view.

There are reports of problems if the phone is not placed on and off the dock carefully, so it is wise to ensure it is always in line with the viewing angle.

The 3 free gameloft games are decent quality including some of their top selling like Gangstar Rio:City of Saints, Nova 3 and Modern Combat 3. Unfortunately one of the games did not work for me and they were helpful and gave me another game for free.

The Verdict

If you can pick one of these packs up for under £15 it is an excellent offer. It includes all the things you could almost ever want.

  1. So is this replacing the android software ice cream sandwich and jelly bean? Since, as far as I know, Sony Ericsson won't be releasing those updates for the Xperia Play.

    1. I do not understand what you are talking about this is a dock with some games included not a software update
